BLBF

The Berkeley Low Background Facility (BLBF) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) has been performing low activity measurements for over 50 years. Currently, the facility provides services in low background counting, neutron activation analysis (NAA), neutron flux monitor counting, general gamma spectroscopy, radon emanation, and consultation in low background materials and experiments.

We currently operate within a low background counting laboratory on the surface at LBNL in Berkeley, CA and within a deep underground site at the 4850 ft. level (4300 m.w.e.) at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD.

The BLBF is a user facility open to users from the scientific community or industry. Please to not hesitate to contact us to see how we can help with your projects.
